Anita Pointer, the founding member of 'The Pointer Sisters, passed away on December 31, 2022 at the age of 74.
Anita's publicist Roger Neal informed in a statement that the cause of Anita's death was not revealed.
Jada Pointer was the only daughter of Anita who was born on April 9, 1966 and passed away in 2003 at the age of 37
Anita's family said, “While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter Jada and her sisters June & Bonnie and at peace. She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long."
Anita had three sisters named as Ruth, Bonnie and June. Her father was a minister and all the sisters brought up in Oakland, California. They used to sing in her father's church their that's how their singing journey started.
Anita Pointer has achieved the massive success in her career and her writing skills played a crucial role in the milestones.
After a massive success of 'Fairytale' 'The Pointer Sisters' became the first black female group who performed at the 'Grand Ole Opry'.
